I was around 8 week post-partum, and I remember calling my best friend crying, because I had just seen a Womens Health Physio who told me what I thought I would never hear… That I’d torn off half my pelvic floor giving birth to my son, and I could never lift heavy again. At the time, that was the worst news ever. I had built a career around heavy lifting and being fit. Who was I if I wasn’t someone who lifted weights? Why did this happen? I had a fit pregnancy. What do I do now? How do I get past this? I was lucky I had studied Pre & Post Natal Coaching, and I had worked alongside a Womens Health Physio running mums and bubs classes, so I knew where to start. I also knew, if I was blindsided by this birth injury, surely so many other women are too? To be honest, I was a little mad. Angry. Why doesn’t anyone talk about this? 

I wasn’t sure what my future in fitness looked like, but I knew I had to use this to grow, learn and become a better person.

So now, I help other women who also found themselves with birth injuries and pelvic floor dysfunction. I created a program I wished was around when I first gave birth. A roadmap for all the postpartum women, and especially those experiencing heaviness, leaking and weakness, who want to be able to safely move their body and re-strengthen again!

ABOUT ME:

I am a sleep-deprived mother of 2 boys, a strength coach of 7 years and a qualified pre & post natal coach for 4 years. I have levator avulsion and small prolapse that I manage, and am able to train in a way I enjoy.

I designed this program as I saw a desperate need for it. It’s for all women in their first few years postpartum who are wanting to return to exercise safely and give their body the best foundation through breathwork, pilates and gentle movement. It is also for mothers experiencing birth injuries, ab separation, prolapse and other birth injuries.
